Changes at Al Tai as Leonardo Ramos Takes Over as Manager To Replace Laurentiu Reghecampf
Languishing in second-last place on the Saudi Pro League table, Al Tai has taken the bold step of relieving manager Laurentiu Reghecampf of his duties and appointing Leonardo Ramos.
With only one win in their last five matches, Al Tai has accumulated 23 points, 2 points less than Abha and Al Riyadh, tied at 25 points with goal difference separating them.
Leonardo Ramos has a significant task ahead of him, with only seven games to go until the end of the season. The Uruguayan is not a stranger to the Saudi Pro League, having managed Al Ettifaq in the 2018/19 season. That stint did not go too well and lasted only ten games. His record was four wins, two draws, and four losses. Ramos will hope he has better luck this time with Al Tai. The 54-year-old received eight caps for Uruguay and was a journeyman at club level, playing for 17 clubs throughout his career. He’s been a manager since 2007 and coached 15 clubs, with Danubio being the only club where he spent more than one season (2012-2015). With that history, he seems like the perfect manager to steer Al Tai for the rest of the season.
Romanian Laurentiu Reghecampf was relieved of his duties after a four-match winless run. Ramos must hit the ground running and win a few games while hoping the other relegation contenders stumble.
