Wayne Rooney Looking to Join The Saudi Pro League Bandwagon After Disastrous Spell At Birmingham
After managing only two wins in 15 matches at Birmingham, Wayne Rooney’s time at the Championship club ended recently. The former Derby and DC United coach is now looking to join former England teammate Steven Gerrard in managing a Saudi Pro League side.
Reports in England have indicated that the former Manchester United and England captain is itching to return to work. While the unfortunate spell at Birmingham led him to rethink his career in management. Rooney is reportedly confident that the lessons from the job will positively contribute to his future as a manager.
According to sources close to him, while he has much to prove, he believes he can deliver and wishes to manage a team in the Saudi Pro League. Having managed in a developing league during his time at DC United in the MLS, Rooney believes the skills there are transferable to the Saudi Pro League.
