Newcastle and Arsenal Target Ruben Neves Set to Snub a Move to the Premier League and Stay in the Saudi Pro League With Al-Hilal
With both Newcastle and Al-Hilal owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and with the Magpies in need of cover in midfield after Sandro Tonali was handed a 10-month ban, rumors linking Al-Hilal’s Ruben Neves with a move to Newcastle have swirled.
Other reports indicate that Arsenal is interested in signing the former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder.
However, Ruben Neves and his camp have poured cold water on these rumors. The Portuguese international has expressed happiness at Al-Hilal and the Saudi Pro League.
Since his move from Wolves to Al-Hilal for £47million, Neves has established himself as a crucial player for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League’s most successful team.
Under the guidance of compatriot and manager Jorge Jesus, Al-Hilal have been dominant and top the table in the Saudi Pro League and are at the top of the Asian Champions League group and have qualified for the quarter-finals for the King’s Cup of Champions.
It is expected that Neves will stay at Al-Hilal at least until the end of the season.
