Cristiano Ronaldo is on a Roll, and So Are Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo was at the center of Al-Nassr’s best work as they ran away 3-0 winners against Al-Akhdoud in the Saudi Pro League, with the Portuguese captain grabbing a brace.
A part of Ronaldo’s second-half quick-fire brace was a stunning lob from 40 yards out. He chested down a loose ball and expertly lofted home from distance in the 80th minute following Al-Akhdoud goalkeeper Paulo Vitor found himself in no man’s land after rushing out to clear the initial danger.
The stunner was Ronaldo’s 15th of the season; it came after he had doubled Al-Nassr’s lead as they kept their form in the Saudi Pro League. Given that Al-Hilal also won in the Saudi Pro League, it was important for Al-Nassr that they kept the pace at the top of the league.
Cristiano Ronaldo is at the center of Al-Nassr’s title challenges. His 15 goals have been crucial in propelling them to wins as they have recovered from the twin losses at the beginning of the season to climb the table up to second behind Al-Hilal.
The win against Al-Akhdoud is also crucial because it keeps them within distance in second place ahead of the top two clashing next Friday, when Al-Hilal will host Al-Nassr, in an early title decider in the Saudi Pro League.
