Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr are on the Hunt for Silverware as they Host Al Khaleej in the King’s Cup Semi-Final
Al Khaleej will be the visitors against Al Nassr on Wednesday as they look to make it into the cup final for the first time in their history. Under Portuguese coach Pedro Emmanuel, Al Khaleej are well positioned to force through into the final and make history.
Al Khaleej will be happy with their season so far, sitting comfortably in midtable. Last season, they narrowly escaped relegation, staying up thanks to a 3-1 win over Abha in the season’s final match.
In their matches against the bigger teams this season, Al Khaleej have shown significant mettle and fighting spirit. They pushed the dominant leaders, Al Hilal, and lost narrowly 1-0 in October. In their clash against Al Nassr last weekend, Ronaldo’s side were pushed all the way and only escaped with a 1-0 win.
Al Nassr will hope to perform better against Al Khaleej on Wednesday as they look to stay in the hunt for silverware on the business end. Their march to the semi-final has been straightforward. They demolished Ohd, the First Division club, in the last 32 before defeating Al Shabab 5-2 in the quarter-finals.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Co will be charged for Al Khaleej’s visit. With the final within touching distance, they will look solid, compact, and have a cutting edge in the final third through Ronaldo and Mane.
