The Saudi Pro League Announces a Five-Year Production Partnership With IMG, the Largest Independent Sports Programming Producer Globally
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Saudi Pro League (SPL) have entered into a five-year production partnership with IMG. The partnership will cover the Roshn Saudi League (RSL), the Saudi Super Cup, and the King’s Cup beginning in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
In a statement to the press, SPL CEO Omar Mugharbel said, “Our new production partnership marks a significant step forward for the SPL as we continue our transformation and growth on and off the pitch. Our collaboration with IMG reflects our commitment to bring world-class production standards to Saudi football with the league the central host producer.”
IMG is the largest independent sports programming producer globally. The company’s expertise and partnerships with distributors are poised to help the SPL offer fans a much-improved football viewing experience.
The EVP of Studios at IMG, Barney Francis, spoke about the partnership, lauding the SPL’s fast growth and the profile of the players. He said, “We are excited to help SPL take its content offering and storytelling to the next level for viewers and broadcasters and to provide opportunities for local broadcast and production talent to be part of the journey.”
Part of the deal includes the implementation of advanced remote production technologies that enable producers to maintain oversight over multiple matches in various locations. The goal is to maintain a high production standard regardless of the location.
