Despite Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez Scoring, Al Hilal Proved Too Strong For Inter Miami Winning 4-3

Suarez and Messi Not Enough To Secure Al Hilal Win for Inter Miami

While the last dance between Messi and Cristiano has been the trending topic, Monday proved to be a fixture worth the football world’s attention, with Al Hilal emerging winners against a Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami.

Al Hilal came out of the blocks swinging and managed to upstage the star-studded Inter Miami set up in the first half. Former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic opened the scoring with a goal in the 10th minute. As Inter Miami were finding their footing in the match, Abdullah Al-Hamdan added to the lead.

In the 34th minute, former Ajax, Liverpool, and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez scored his first goal for Inter Miami to bring the MLS side back into the game. The celebrations were shortlived as Michael made it 3-1 and put a cherry on top with a Cristiano Ronaldo celebration.

Inter Miami came back in the second half eager to turn things around, starting with Lionel Messi converting a penalty kick. An inspired and fired-up Inter Miami only needed another minute for David Ruiz to score and make it 3-3.

The last laugh belonged to Al Hilal as Malcom sealed the victory with an 88-minute goal to pour cold water on the Inter Miami comeback. Lionel Messi and his teammates will now focus on redemption when they face Al Nassr on Thursday, February 1.
