Former Arsenal, Barcelona & Dortmund Striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Joins Al Qadsiah
Newcomers Al Qadsiah continue to bolster their squad, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being the latest signing. The former Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal striker inked his deal on Thursday.
With Nacho (Real Madrid), Nahitan Nandez (Cagliari), and Koen Casteels (Wolfsburg) already at the club, the 35-year-old will be the latest addition to a squad intent on being competitive once the 2024-25 Saudi Pro League season starts.
Al Qadsiah acquired the Gabonese striker from Olympique Marseille, where he scored 17 goals in 34 league appearances in the 2023-24 season. The club’s hierarchy will hope he maintains the same output or even exceeds it to ensure they challenge for the top spots in the Saudi Pro League.
Aubameyang has enjoyed an impressive career across the top European leagues. He attracted plenty of attention while playing for the AC Milan youth team but never for the first team. Instead, he spent three years on loan in France with Dijon, Lille, and Monaco. He played for Borussia Dortmund in Germany, scoring 98 goals in 144 appearances. In England, he played 128 games for Arsenal, scoring 74 goals. Since then, he’s played for Barcelona, Chelsea and Marseille.
On the international stage, Aubameyang played for France at the U-21 level but switched allegiances to Gabon when it came to the senior level. In 77 appearances for Gabon, he’s managed 31 goals. He will be looking to add the Saudi Pro League to his long list of accolades when Al Qadsiah return to action in the top flight when the season kicks off.
