Cristiano Ronaldo Facing Another Ban And Fine After Red Card In The Saudi Super Cup Loss to Al Hilal
Cristiano Ronaldo will sit out the next two games after getting sent off in the 2-1 Saudi Super Cup Semi-Final loss against Al Hilal. Ronaldo may also face additional sanctions as his behavior was termed “disgraceful.”
With Al Nassr two goals down and trying to claw their way back into the game, Cristiano Ronaldo drew a frustrated figure as Al Hilal defenders marked him out of the game. In a moment of frustration, the Portuguese international elbowed Ali Al-Bulaihi and was subsequently sent off with four minutes left to the end of the match.
Ronaldo did not leave the referee’s decision to send him off lying down. He opted to angrily protest the decision, which prompted the referee to note in his match report that the former Real Madrid and Manchester United man used excessive force.
Ronaldo will now be required to pay a fine of 20,000 riyals due to his actions, and his team will miss his services for the next two games. With Anderson Talisca out for the rest of the season, Al Nassr will go into those games light in attack, and their performances are likely to suffer.
