At the Age of 21, Gabri Veiga Moves to Saudi Arabia
Spanish footballer Gabri Veiga is the latest addition to Al-Ahli’s star-studded squad. Celta de Vigo and the Saudi Pro League club confirmed the deal early on Saturday afternoon. Al Ahli’s Coach Jaissle was fundamental for the player’s decision to move to Saudi Arabia.
In an official note, Al-Ahli confirmed that Gabri Veiga, 21, has signed until 2026. The Saudi Arabian club did not reveal the amount paid to Celta de Vigo for the transfer, but according to the Spanish press, it would be up to 40 million euros.
The midfielder ends a connection of about ten years with Celta, which in the past he considered to be the club of his life and which he joined the youth ranks at the age of 11.
Gabri Veiga joins a squad that already includes, among other players who arrived there from European football, Roger Ibañez (ex-Roma), Saint-Maximin (ex-Newcastle), Roberto Firmino (ex-Liverpool), Riyad Mahrez (ex-Manchester City), Franck Kessié (ex-Barcelona) or Édouard Mendy (ex-Chelsea).
