Saudi Sports Minister Admits Harsh Truth on the Reality of Mohamed Salah’s Situation

Mohamed Salah’s move to Saudi Arabia uncertain

Al-Attihad has been looking to purchase Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah for a while, as his contract is soon coming to an end. Saudi Sports Minister Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud confirmed Al-Attihad’s interest, claiming they offered an “astronomical” package as they enquired about the possibility of Salah coming to the club.

Liverpool was not interested in selling, and sources from within the club assured that even if the Egyptian King were to look to move out from The Scousers, his first option would never be to come to Saudi Arabia.

While the deal is currently cold (Al-Attihad stopped showing interest in it), there is no doubt that the Saudi club would jump on the opportunity if Mohamed Salah were open to the move. Expectations were that Liverpool would be happy to sell him as Al-Attihad is the only club still ready to pay a premium price. However, Liverpool still values Salah, who hit the double digits in terms of goals in the 23/24 season.

Additionally, the experience of Jordan Henderson in Saudi Arabia, who soon enough left the country, probably discourages Liverpool’s star from completing the move.
