Saudi Pro League Incorporates OptaAI to Enhance the League’s Statistical Analysis

In an effort to continue enhancing the viewership experience, the Saudi Pro League has entered into a partnership with Stats Perform, providing teams and media access to tools and insights from OptaAI and Opta.

With the SPL focused on enhancing fan engagement, it will now incorporate artificial intelligence in its performance insights. This will also include Kings Cup and Super Cup matches. The performance analysis department of each club will have access to the data to better inform their training, performance, and digital media presence.

The Opta Vision insights incorporate fitness data, on-ball actions, and player tracking. These are combined with AI-powered predictive metrics to help analysts identify performance traits at both the individual and collective levels.

The partnership is also expected to improve recruitment efforts, with Opta providing player data from other leagues. Scouts will have access to the Opta Pro Hub interface enabling them to create scouting reports and recruitment shortlists. The hope is that such tools will help the SPL continue its rise as it seeks to rank among the top football leagues globally.
