Is Sancho Headed to the Saudi Pro League? The Englishman is Looking for an Exit Out of Manchester United in the Winter Window
According to the Athletic, the Saudi Pro League is the most probable route for Jadon Sancho out of his current Manchester United limbo experience, as the Englishman looks for a path back to playing competitive football again, having been frozen out at Manchester United by manager Erik Ten Hag.
Following a feud with Ten Hag, the 23-year-old looks set to leave Old Trafford in the winter window after he was ostracized from the first-team, and he has not featured for Manchester United since August.
This latest episode follows a period during which Sancho failed to meet expectations at Manchester United following his £73m move from Dortmund in 2021. However, this disappointment has not stopped the player from attracting extensive interest across Europe.
His former club, Borussia Dortmund, has expressed interest in the winger. However, Sancho’s wages have proven a major stumbling block for the Signal Induna side. Other European teams have also balked at the mouth-watering salary Sancho is on at Manchester United.
Sancho’s £200,000-a-week salary will not be a stumbling block for Saudi clubs. As a result, the Saudi Pro League has emerged as the most likely route for the player to move out of Manchester United.
For Manchester United, a swift move to the Saudi Pro League could be a good outcome for a player who is on high wages and is not considered a part of the manager’s plans soon. This will also help the club to free up space and get a badly needed injection of cash to help manager Ten Hag land his targets that he failed to get in the summer.
