Saudi Offer for Simone Inzaghi Unsuccessful as Inter Milan Turns Opportunity Down
According to Transfer Market Expert Alfredo Pedulla, Saudi Club Al-Nassr offered Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi a 20M/year deal to coach the club, which he reportedly refused.
Al-Nassr, along with other Saudi Clubs, have famously looked to snatch stars from the Old Continent in the past year. While this used to only concern players, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, N’Golo Kanté, Aleksandar Mitrović, Saudi clubs have now tried to lure Europe’s best coaches with lucrative financial offers. A few months earlier, this was the case of José Mourinho, who was offered to coach in Saudi Arabia. He declined the offer and instead signed with Fenerbahçe. Now, a 20M/year deal was offered to Inzaghi, but this is another bid that turned out to be unsuccessful.
Attempts on Italy’s coaches have multiplied in the past weeks, as ex-AC Milan gaffer Stefano Pioli was also offered the job again, leading to refusal.
In Inzaghi’s case, the project with Inter Milan, sounds much more exciting, despite the moneybag that Al-Nassr offers. If Saudi Clubs want to snatch top coaches in Europe, it looks like they will have to do more than offer just big money.
