Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club, announces the signing of Sadio Mané
Senegalese striker Sadio Mané, champion of the African Cup of Nations in 2022, has signed with Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia, after just one season at Bayern Munich, the two clubs announced on Tuesday.
According to the German press, the value of Mané’s transfer to the Saudi club would reach 30 million euros, with an annual salary of 40 million euros, plus 10 million euros for goals achieved.
“With his long absence, he has not been able to play at Bayern Munich like us and as he had hoped,” Jan-Christian Dreesen, chairman of the German club’s board, said in a statement. “That’s why together we wanted him to start a new chapter in his career and have a fresh start at another club,” he added.
At Al-Nassr, the 31-year-old Senegalese will share the locker room with Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who signed with the Saudi club in January for two seasons. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, was the first of Europe’s football stars to be signed in the Saudis’ bold move to become one of the biggest leagues in world football.
Frenchman Karim Benzema and his compatriot N’Golo Kanté have moved to Al-Ittihad. Other big names like Kalidou Koulibaly (Al-Hilal) and Brazilian Roberto Firmino (Al-Ahli) will also compete in the Saudi championship.
