AS Roma Set to Negotiate Transfer Fee for Paulo Dybala After Argentine Forward Agreed Personal Terms With Al Qadsiah

Paulo Dybala Celebrates a Goal For AS Roma In a Serie a Match Against Udinese.

Saudi Pro League newcomers Al Qadsiah have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Argentinian striker, Paulo Dybala. The AS Roma striker is set to earn €20 million a year for three years should the two clubs reach an agreement.

With AS Roma under pressure to sell and players like Smalling and Paredes turning down Saudi offers, Paulo Dybala looks like the candidate to salvage the club’s financial woes.

The striker had a €12 million release clause on his contract, but it expired earlier this summer. That means Al Qadsiah and AS Roma will have to negotiate and come to an agreement. The Saudi Pro League side understands AS Roma’s pressure to sell, which puts them in a strong bargaining position.

Dybala, 31, would be an uncharacteristic signing, with most Saudi clubs targeting young players this summer. However, Al Qadsiah is not among the list of PIF-owned clubs as it is owned by Aramco, a publicly traded state oil company. That has allowed them the leeway to target players that do not necessarily meet the league’s preference, with the focus being on being competitive in the top flight.

A successful sale of Dybala would present pure profit for AS Roma. The forward joined on a free transfer in 2022. Since then, he’s made 77 appearances, scored 34 goals, and contributed 18 assists.

A challenge for Al Qadsiah is Dybala’s injury record, where he’s suffered muscular injuries throughout his career. The hope is that the reduced intensity and fewer games will allow him enough recovery time to minimize instances of injuries.
