Is a Move to the Saudi Pro League on the Cards for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho?

Out of The First Team, Sancho May Look East in January

Before the Saudi transfer window slammed shut on September 7th, speculation was rife about where Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho could play his football.

Speculation heated up when he was left out of the trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal, and the manager publicly criticized his training application. When the player answered back on social media, observers saw that as the final straw.

According to the Athletic, several Saudi Pro League clubs expressed interest in Sancho but the fee Manchester United quoted them put them off.

At £65m, Manchester United’s valuation was viewed as excessive even by the free-spending Saudi Pro League clubs.

The window shut, and Sancho remained a Manchester United player, but for how long?

The player will have a significant role to play in deciding his destination. Reports indicate that he turned down several approaches as he worked with his agents to get a move that would meet their sporting and financial ambitions.

It remains to be seen whether Jadon Sancho will end up in the Saudi Pro League. The links will continue into the winter window in Europe, especially if relations with Erik Ten Hag remain strained.
