Neymar Watches Santos Beat Corinthians in Brazil

Neymar was back where it all started, at the Estadio Urbano Caldeira on Wednesday, to watch his boyhood club Santos defeat Corinthians 1-0 in a derby clash. The former Barcelona and PSG star wore a T-shirt with a Santos logo, showing his allegiance to his boyhood club.

Joao Schmidt was at hand to power the Alvinegro ahead and hand them a 1-0 win that gave put them at the top of the Paulista after six rounds of fixtures.

Neymar’s affinity to Santos, and his presence at the match has sparked rumors that the Brazilian record scorer could return to his boyhood club sometime in the future.

When Santos’ coach Fabio Carille was asked about this possibility, he responded: “It would be great [to have Neymar]. We know it’s difficult, a different player who can solve it… It’s a distant dream, but let’s dream.”

However, Neymar is under contract until 2025 at Al-Hilal, having joined from PSG in the summer. He will continue recover from his cruciate ligament injury he suffered while on international duty with Brazil.

Al-Hilal will hope that their star player will recover and be available before the start of next season, as they bid to continue their dominance in the Saudi Pro League beyond this season.
