Jose Mourinho Endorses the Possibility of Coaching in the Saudi Pro League and Pours Cold Water Real Madrid Return

Mourinho Reiterates Saudi Wish, Dismisses Madrid Return

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed his plans to take a managerial job in the Saudi Premier League. At the same time, the Portuguese tactician played down the possibility of a sensational return to Real Madrid.

Speaking to MBC Egypt TV Channel, Mourinho said, “I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don’t know when, but I am pretty sure of it.

“I am committed to my work with Roma, and I want to give everything to the club until the last day,’ added under-pressure Mourinho after a disappointing start to the season.

“No one knows the future, but I will definitely do this (working in Saudi Arabia),” he said.

The 60-year-old revealed recently that he turned down a huge offer from the Saudi Pro League to stay at Roma for his third season in the aftermath of leading the Stadio Olimpico side to the Conference League triumph and reaching the final in the UEFA Europa League.

When asked about the possibility of returning to Real Madrid, Mourinho said, “Me at Real Madrid? When you have a super coach, why should you think of another?… I hope that the season goes fantastically and that next season Carlo is still there because I think he is the perfect coach for Real Madrid.”

This sets the ‘Special One’ on a path to the Saudi Pro League in the coming seasons, which is enough to excite fans in the burgeoning league.
