Mo Salah Could Become the Highest-Paid Player with Al-Ittihad if He Accepts Al-Ittihad’s Contract Offer
Saudi Pro League titleholders, Al Ittihad, have reignited their pursuit of Mohamed Salah, aiming to lure the Egyptian star with a lucrative offer. However, Liverpool’s reluctance to part ways with their prized asset casts a shadow over the deal this summer.
While Al Ittihad has already secured former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kante, they view Salah as a marquee addition. Initial plans positioned the transfer for next summer, yet recent reports unveil their determination to finalize the deal before the transfer window closes.
A two-year contract proposal worth €180 million had been readied, and now Al Ittihad is ready to double this offer to entice Salah to make the move.
The club deems a £52 million ($65 million) transfer fee reasonable to initiate negotiations with Liverpool. Nevertheless, as per transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, there’s an emerging consensus that the Reds intend to hold onto Salah and have displayed their firm stance regarding his potential departure.
Having penned a new three-year contract last year, Salah’s current deal extends for another two years, which could impact the success of Al Ittihad’s ambitions to secure his signature.
