Kylian Mbappe Sends Strong Message to Saudi Arabia as He Refuses to Meet with Al Hilal Representatives
According to reports, after PSG permitted Al Hilal to speak to the French ace, he has shown no willingness to listen to their offer. The forward has one year left of his contract, and the club would rather sell him this summer than lose him for free next summer.
Al Hilal proposed personal terms include a record-breaking $776 Million a year in salary. The mouth-watering deal set tongues wagging, with top NBA stars such as Lebron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Draymond Green marveling at the terms.
For Kylian Mbappe, however, playing in Saudi Arabia for a year doesn’t seem appealing enough. Having fallen out with the club’s hierarchy over his refusal to sign a new deal, the World Cup winner is content with sitting on the bench in the coming season and moving to Real Madrid for free next summer.
A lot of work needs to be done in developing the Saudi Pro League to attract players in their prime. The league is in its early stages, and players like Mbappe aren’t too keen to be part of it. Over time, if the league can consistently gain a global audience’s attention, perceptions are bound to change.
