Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne Gives the Strongest Hint Yet that He is ‘Open’ to Transfer to the ‘Incredible’ Saudi Pro League
Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City, a six-time Premier League winner, has said he is “open to everything” and expressed his awareness of the “incredible amount of money” a move to the Saudi Pro League would offer.
At 32 years old, De Bryune is thinking strategically about his career, especially after experiencing immense success in the Premier League and the Champions League with Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.
In an interview with the Belgian outlet HLN, De Bruyne said, “At my age, you have to be open to everything. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.”
The Belgian international continued, “If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that, I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet. Then you have to think about what that could mean next. But at the moment, I haven’t had to think about that yet.”
A move to the MLS is also possible, which has triggered the Belgian to start thinking about his next move.
“These are conversations that we are increasingly having as a family,” added De Bruyne.
Speaking further about his family, De Bruyne said, “I still have one year left on my contract, so I have to think about what could happen. My eldest son is now eight years old and knows nothing but England. He also asks how long I will play for City. Once the moment comes, we will have to deal with it in a certain way.”
The possibility of one of the best midfielders in the modern Premier League era will be monumental and defining this summer. If they can get it over the line, it will also be a major coup for the Saudi Pro League.
