Ex-England Captain John Terry Close to Taking The Sports Director Role at Saudi Pro League Side Al-Shabab
The former Chelsea and England captain is set to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab as their Sports Director, following in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard by moving to the Middle East.
The 42-year-old Terry has been working with the Chelsea academy after leaving Leicester following his spell working with Foxes manager Dean Smith toward the end of their relegation campaign.
John Terry’s decision to accept a position with the Saudi Pro League club highlights the ambition of the Saudi project and the continued evolution of the league toward a better technically and competitive league in the sporting department.
Terry will bring a wealth of experience to Al-Shabab, including playing and managerial outlooks that will help the club make the next steps as they look to challenge at the top end of the Saudi Pro League.
This move also shows that the Saudi Pro League revolution will not stop at the purchase of players; instead, the growth will continue in technical areas as the emergence of the Saudi Pro League as a major player in the world of football continues to gather pace.
