Despite Star-Studded Squad at Al Ahli, Feras Al Buraikan is Standing Out, Claiming the Top Scorer Status
Al Ahli Saudi FC has plenty of star power, including Alan Saint-Maximim, Roberto Firminho, Franck Kessie, and Riyad Mahrez. That has not stopped local Saudi talent Feraz Al Buraikan from rising to the occasion and being the standout player so far this season. He has 12 goals (8 for Al Ahli) to rank first at his club.
Having switched from Al Fateh at the beginning of the season, the 23-year-old Saudi Arabia international has hit the ground running and helped his team secure the third position in the Saudi Pro League rankings.
This is not Feraz’s first prolific scoring season: he contributed 17 goals for Al Fateh last season, which was more than a third of the team’s total goals in the league. At Al Ahli, he has managed eight goals (he scored 4 for Al Fateh before making the switch) and five assists. With 13 goal contributions for Al Ahli, Farez comes in second to Riyad Mahrez who has 17 goal contributions so far this season (9 goals and eight assists). Overall, Al Buraikan’s 18 goal contributions this season come in fifth on the rankings behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Anderson Talisca and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.
Given his age, Al Buraikan is just entering his prime, and we’re sure to see more of him at both the club and international levels.
