Unnamed Saudi Pro League Side Opens Talks With Real Betis For Nabil Fekir Transfer
Real Betis’s attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir is the target of an unnamed Saudi Pro League club. The unnamed club has contacted Real Betis to secure the Frenchman’s services during this winter transfer window.
Fekir has not had a smooth ride recently, having just returned from a long injury layoff in December. In his absence, former Real Madrid and Sevilla star Isco Alarcón has made the attacking midfielder role his own. Real Betis rewarded Isco’s performances with a new contract that will see him stay at the club for a few more years.
For Nabil Fekir, the battle to fight for a berth in the starting 11 requires him to be at his best when called upon. He’s yet to indicate publicly that he’s giving up that fight and has, as recently as this month, stated that he’s staying at Los Verdiblancos for now.
On Real Betis’s side, given their financial troubles, moving Fekir on would offer some respite and allow them to allocate funding to sign players in other positions. Time will tell how the scenario transpires and whether we’ll see Fekir tearing it up in the Saudi Pro League at the end of the January transfer window.
