Previous reports indicated that Juventus and Al Nassr were in advanced negotiations for the transfer of Wojciech Szczęsny. However, it has now emerged that the deal may not go through.

Reports in Europe indicate that issues arose between the two clubs, putting the transfer on hold for now. There are no details on the nature of those issues, but they could be related to the transfer fee or the player himself expressing reservations about making the move.

Al Nassr’s management circles believe that the absence of a top goalkeeper was one key reason they ended the 2023-24 season trophyless. Consequently, acquiring the services of a world-class goalkeeper is a priority this summer, and Szczęsny was identified as the solution.

Undeterred by the potential setback, Al Nassr are already exploring other goalkeeper options. They have reportedly approached Liverpool’s Allison Becker and former Manchester United and current free agent David De Gea. While Allison has declined their advances, the club is yet to hear from De Gea’s camp, leaving the door open for further developments.
