Ronaldo to the Rescue, Cristiano Ronaldo Dragged Al-Nassr to Victory With a Brilliant Free Kick
Al-Nassr were staring at dropped points for a second consecutive match in the Saudi Pro League before their Portuguese talisman Cristiano stepped up to the plate in the 56th minute to grab the winner and return Al-Nassr to winning ways.
This was shaping up to be a frustrating match for Ronaldo and Damac. They faced a hard-working, well-structured, and stubborn Damac side that was disciplined and unfazed during the match.
Their hard work paid off in the 57th minute when they took the lead through a strike by Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, stunning the home side that had enjoyed most of the possession without really threatening the visitors.
Cristiano Ronaldo had the ball in the back of the net in the 5th minute, but the goal was disallowed for a clear offside. However, apart from the disallowed goal, the Portuguese captain was peripheral to the game and had few chances in front of goal.
At the start of the second half, Ronaldo had another goal disallowed for a clear offside, adding to the frustration for Ronaldo and Al-Nassr. However, Al-Nass kept plugging on, with the equalizer coming in the 52nd minute via a Talisca free kick.
Five minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo got into the action with a stunning freekick to complete Al-Nassr’s comeback and seal the win.
As he has done so many times for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo stepped up to the plate when it counted and made a difference. Al-Nassr will hope his fine form continues as they look to challenge for the title this season.
