Cristiano Ronaldo Urging Al Nassr Management to Convince Kevin De Bruyne to Join the Saudi Pro League Side Next Summer
Al Nassr’s marquee player and the Saudi Pro League “Franchise Player” is urging his club to pull out all stops to bring Manchester City’s playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne, to the club. Ronaldo has reportedly told club officials that they should offer a $1 million a week offer to the Belgian.
With the level of competition in the Saudi Pro League improving with each passing season, teams are looking for value in the transfer market to enhance their quality. Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo believes Kevin De Bruyne, whose Manchester City contract runs out next summer, would be a great addition.
While this summer saw no huge contracts signed, it was not for lack of trying. Players like Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah received offers on attractive terms but opted to either remain at their clubs or move elsewhere. The goal has shifted to making financially prudent decisions, and Ronaldo believes a move for De Bruyne would be a prudent one despite the high value of the contract.
De Bruyne and Manchester City have yet to open talks on a contract extension, but given the playmaker’s age of 33, the expectation is that he will receive an offer lower than the current £375,000-a-week salary.
De Bruyne has previously expressed an openness to joining the Saudi Pro League but noted that he would only make the move after consultations with his family. Should he move to Al Nassr, he would offer a creative output that is currently lacking at the club. While the squad is filled with goalscorers like Talisca, Ronaldo, and Mane, a creative midfielder has been lacking, and if they are to bridge the gap between them and Al Hilal.
