“I Dreamed of This, and I Have More Dreams” Cristiano Ronaldo Declares His Intention to Reach 1000 Career Goals After Hitting 900 Goals Milestone

Having reached the milestone of 900 senior career goals, Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo is now aiming for 1000.

During the international break, Cristiano Ronaldo set another record by being the first player to score 900 senior career goals in competitive games. Ronaldo’s 900th goal came in the 2-1 UEFA Nations League win against Croatia.

In recognition of a true superhuman achievement, Ronaldo dashed to the corner flag and fell to his knees as he was overcome with emotion. The journey to 900 goals has taken 22 years, and the 39-year-old is set to keep on going. Ronaldo’s first goal came in October of 2002 when he was 17 years old, playing for Sporting Lisbon in his homeland, Portugal.

Marking the momentous achievement, the Al Nassr captain posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account saying, “I dreamed of this, and I have more dreams. Thank you all!” with a video of some of his most memorable goals over the years.

Already, Ronaldo is looking forward to the next milestone, and he started on that adventure on Sunday when he scored the winner in the 88th minute against Scotland in their UEFA Nations League encounter.

Speaking in an interview with former teammate Rio Ferdinand, Cristiano said, “I want to reach 1,000 goals. If I don’t have any injuries, this for me is the most important [thing]. I want that. For me, the best mark that I can have in football is to reach, first, 900 goals. After, my challenge is to be at 1,000 goals.

The interview was recorded before Ronaldo’s 900th goal. It is good news for Al Nassr fans, given that their star player is not keen on slowing down or being less hungry despite reaching milestone after milestone while defying age.
