Anderson Talisca Late Goal Secures Three Points For Al Nassr Against Much Improved Al Shabab in 3-2 Thriller

Anderson Talisca Scores Brace As Cristiano Ronaldo Converts Penalty

On Sunday, the Al Shabab Club Stadium played host to a five-match thriller that saw Anderson Talisca grab a brace and Cristiano Ronaldo take his chart-topping goal tally to 22 with a well-taken penalty.

The match started off with intensity with both teams failing to capitalize on clear-cut chances due to wonderful goalkeeping on both ends. After 20 minutes, an Iago Santos handball in the box saw Cristiano Ronaldo dutifully score from the penalty spot to put Al Nassr ahead.

In the added minutes of the first half, an Aymeric Laporte challenge gone wrong awarded Al Shabab a penalty that Yannick Carrasco made no mistakes in closing the first half at 1-1.

Al Nassr came out of the dressing room ready to play and was rewarded in the 46th minute when Talisca slotted home to make it 2-1. Vitor Pereira’s men reacted well to the goal and put pressure on Al Nassr in search of an equalizer. Brazilian Carlos Junior capitalized on a cross from Habib Diallo to tap in and secure the equalizer.

With Al Hilal not playing until the next day, Al Nassr was keen to secure all three points and narrow the gap at the top. Talisca came through in the 86th minute with the match-winning goal, bringing his season tally to 13, making him fourth on the scoring charts.
