Al Hilal Suffer Significant Blow With Top Scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic Set To Miss Six Weeks Due To A Hamstring Injury

Aleksandar Mitrovic Out With Hamstring Injury For Six Weeks

Al Hilal’s chances of keeping their healthy lead of 12 points at the top of the table were dealt a heavy blow after the club confirmed that striker Aleksandar Mitrovic will be out for six weeks due to injury.

Mitrovic, who has scored 22 goals this season scored a brace on Saturday against Al Shabab to secure the 3-4 victory. However, he came out of the match with a hamstring injury and will now have to sit out the next six weeks.

After the match, manager Jorge Jesus expressed concerns, noting that the injury seemed heavy. He also expressed his frustration of having to play without Mitrovic, noting, “A player like Mitrovic, we don’t have an equal substitute for him, even though in other positions we might have.” Given his contributions this season, it is understandable why the manager bemoaned his injury. Only Cristiano Ronaldo (26) has scored more than Mitrovic’s 22 goals so far this season.

With only 9 matches left to the end of the season, Mitrovic will miss at least six games. It remains to be seen whether Al Hilal will manage to get results without him with the burden on his teammates to step up and fill the gap until his return.
