AS Roma Left Back Leonardo Spinazzola Considering Offers From Various Saudi Clubs for A January Transfer
The Saudi Pro League has once again come calling for 30-year-old Italian Leonardo Spinazzola, whose AS Roma contract expires in the summer. With six months left on his current deal, Spinazzola is free to talk to other clubs and possibly sign a pre-contract for a move in the summer.
So far this season, Spinazzola has been a mainstay in Jose Mourinho’s team, making 13 appearances (2 off the bench) and securing two assists and a goal from the left wing-back position. However, it seems the powers-that-be at the Italian club have not seen his performances as worth discussing on a new contract. Consequently, Spinazzola has to consider his options for next season.
Spinazzola has also attracted offers from Galatasaray in Turkey, but an offer has yet to be tabled. Given his age, the Italian defender will be aware that his next contract might be his last, and he’s bound to take some time to consider the implications of each offer.
Last summer, the player was linked to Al Shabab, with the Saudi Pro League reportedly offering him a €7M a year contract. The clubs interested in him are yet to be identified, but we’ll know more once they table concrete offers.
