Al-Nassr Score 3 Goals in 10 Minutes in a Dramatic Victory to Reach the Asian Champions League Group Stage
Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr displayed an extraordinary late surge, earning their spot in the group stage draw for the Asian Champions League with a thrilling 4-2 victory over United Arab Emirates side Shabab Al Ahli in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The match witnessed an early lead for Al Nassr through Anderson Talisca’s 11th-minute goal, but Yahya Al Ghassani from Shabab Al Ahli responded with two goals, putting the UAE side ahead 2-1 into the game’s late stages.
However, the tide turned dramatically when Sultan Al Ghannam netted a crucial header in the 88th minute, leveling the score. Talisca’s second goal in the fifth minute of injury time swung the momentum back in Al Nassr’s favor at 3-2. Cristiano Ronaldo played a pivotal role by assisting Marcelo Brozovic’s goal, sealing the victory at 4-2.
Ronaldo praised his team’s resolute comeback, as Al Nassr’s impressive effort secured their place in the Asian Champions League group stage. Despite a challenging start to the Saudi Pro League, this triumph marked a significant achievement for the team.
Joining Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Fahya from Saudi Arabia, Al Nassr will advance to the 32-team tournament, set to commence next month. The draw for the tournament will take place on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
