Al Hilal’s Perfect Start to the 2024-25 Season Ensures Their Dominance in the Saudi Pro League Monthly Awards

Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored seven goals in five appearances this term so far, two of which came against Al Ittihad to halt their early-season momentum.

Al Hilal scooped two of the four monthly awards in the Saudi Pro League after winning three out of three matches in September, scoring ten goals and only conceding three. Jorge Jesus claimed the Manager of the Month award, while Aleksandar Mitrovic was declared the Player of the Month.

Picking up where he left off last season, the 2023-24 Manager of the Season, Jorge Jesus, has exceptionally led his charges from the dugout so far this season. In September, he secured two away wins against Al Kholood and Al Riyadh and then impressively halted Al Ittihad’s early-season momentum with a decisive home victory.

A key element of Al Hilal’s perfect run in September is striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has scored seven goals in five appearances this term so far, two of which came against Al Ittihad. The former Fulham striker is an early-season contender for the Golden Boot should he continue his current streak.

The Goalkeeper of the Month award went to Al Qadsiah’s Koen Casteels. The Belgian, who joined the Saudi Pro League newcomers from Bundesliga’s Wolfsburg in the summer, has managed four clean sheets so far, two of them in September.

Rounding off the monthly awards is Al Shabab’s Musab Al Juwayr, who took home the Young Player of the Month award after playing an integral role in placing his club third in the standings. Interestingly, Al Juwayr is a former Al Hilal player who made the switch late this summer.

As action in the Saudi Pro League resumes this weekend, Al Hilal looks set to continue its impressive run. Having gone 41 matches unbeaten in the Saudi Pro League, Jorge Jesus’ men are settled and confident that they can extend that run and claim more awards when October ends.
