Al Ahli are considering making a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney. The English international has been an Al Ahli target since January, and the Saudi Pro League club is waiting for an indication from Toney’s camp that he’s interested in a move.

Earlier in the transfer window, Brentford showed an inclination to slash the asking price to £30 million, with Arsenal, Manchester United, West Ham, Tottenham, and Chelsea all interested in the striker. However, three of those suitors have since moved on and signed players in his position: Joshua Zirkzee (Manchester United), Niclas Fullkrug (West Ham), and Dominic Solanke (Tottenham). That leaves two suitors whose interest has not extended beyond the initial inquiry.

The price might go higher after new striker Igor Thiago injured his knee and is expected to miss the first half of the season. That means Al Ahli may need to bid much higher to convince Brentford to sell.

After serving an eight-month ban for gambling activities, Toney played 17 games last season and only managed to score 4 goals. In the two previous seasons, Ivan Toney managed 32 goals in 66 appearances in the English Premier League. The 28-year-old would be a welcome addition at Al Ahli should both parties decide the move is right for them.
